Foundations
and cellars
Usually made by the investor.
In locations close to the site of the company we make foundations
as small concrete poles (for smaller houses) or reinforced shallow
foundation walls, and, for cellars, walls made of concrete blocks.
Ceilings are made of reinforced concrete or wood, and propped on
a ground beam. |

Outer
and inner walls.
Houses are made of turned pine wood or spruce wood logs (10, 12,
14, 16 cm in diameter).
Logs are connected using saddle notches.
Slots between logs are filled with insulation sheets, logs are additionally
connected using wooden spikes 25 or 32 mm in diameter.
Joists and inner walls are made with logs of the same diameter as
the outer walls.
Houses for year-round habitation are insulated with mineral wool
or ecofibre
7 or 10 cm thick, and then finished with wooden panelling, planks
or painted
gypsum boards or, most frequently, split logs screwed to a frame.
Summer houses are usually not insulated, in order to lower costs
and preserve the ornamental value of bare wood.
The wood is impregnated with products from the Finnish company Ticcurilla.
They have natural qualities, which allow the wood to breathe and
protect it from the weather, fungi and other pests. |
